Tan Flextra has Two Versions Offered by ContiTech

Recently we have received questions on the FDA compliance of the very popular Tan Flextra. ContiTech offers two tan hoses under the Flextra brand to convey abrasive materials. Both hoses have the same Pureten rubber liner . The compound used for both liners is compliant with Code of Federal Regulation, Title 21, Part 177.2600, Rubber articles intended for repeated use. Meets requirements for rubber articles intended for repeated use in contact with aqueous food (Water extraction test) per CFR21, 177.2600e.

549-116 Tan Flextra – Material Handling is in our Material Handling hose category of the 2018 Industrial Hose catalog. (Refer to page 159.) The hose is manufactured on carbon steel mandrel utilizing lubricants for mandrel extractions. Target application is to convey abrasive materials such as sand, limestone and plastic pellets. The liner is not suitable to transfer oily medium.

549-987 Tan Flextra – Food Transfer was launched in 2014 with the purpose to offer a fully FDA compliant hose for abrasive material transfer. This hose is in our Food Hose category of the 2018 Industrial Hose catalog. (Refer to page 85.) This hose is made on chromed mandrel and additional measures are in place to ensure the cleanliness of the hose to handle abrasive food stuff . Target application is to convey abrasive materials such as sand, limestone and plastic pellets and dry abrasive food stuff. The liner is not suitable to transfer oily medium.

Following the same approach we have two versions for both Tan Softwall and Tan Flexwing.
