Continental will be transitioning to longer lengths for the standard reel pack on all -04, -06, and -08 hoses. The change will be piloted on XR16SC beginning December 1, 2018 before being implemented on all Continental hydraulic hose families in 1Q19.

 

Standard reel pack will change from:

  • -04 : from 250’ to 500’ per reel
  • -06 : from 250’ to 400’ per reel
  • -08 : from 250’ to 350’ per reel

 

This change will help our customers reduce waste due to shorts and ends on these sizes by providing longer lengths.

FAQ:

Q: Will the SAP numbers for these products change?

A: No, there will be no change to existing SAP numbers or product codes.

Q: Can I still get 250’ reels on these sizes?

A: No, 250’ reels will be replaced on these sizes. If your customers feel they do not need this large of a reel, 50’ box packaging may be an option.

Q: Will the number or length of pieces on a reel change?

A: No, the standard pack will still be 3 pieces per reel max, 10 ft minimum length.

Q: Will I have to change existing racking?

A: This will depend on individual situations. The reels will have the same width but a wider flange OD. In most cases we anticipate no changes to racking will be required.
